DomainKeys and SPF records

Sorry for email you again so short after the previous email but there is some important information that I want to bring to your attention.

The server software such as the hosting control panel is updated automatic and I only now discovered that a VERY nice feature was added that is of great value.

Steps to follow

Please login to your hosting control panel and click on the Email Authentication icon in the MAIL tab.

If not already enabled please click on ENABLE for both DomainKeys and SPF.

Explanation

What both DomainKeys and SPF do is to add email authentication to your DOMAIN NAME to fight spam by authenticate email being send from one of your email addresses.

Both of the methods above help to prevent forged mail from going in and out of the server. The great benefit of enabling these methods is to prevent mail from looking like it is coming from your domain(s). When enabled, these methods should reduce the amount of bounce messages or unwanted emails received when spammers "spoof" one or more of your email addresses.

As secondary and huge benefit is that DomainKeys and SPF will also help to ensure that your legimate email are more readily accepted all over the internet and not bounced back or just deleted.

(Some LARGE email providers actually ONLY allow email with valid DomainKeys and SPF records)

Autoresponders

Please take care of autoresponders and ONLY use it if necessary or with an email address that’s not in use and published everywhere.

If most spammers use spoofed email addresses and most of the email in your inbox is spam, then most of YOUR autoresponder messages go to innocent people and can thus be classified as spam itself.

If you really want to use an autoresponder what you can do is to create an email address like autoreply@hondeklip.co.za to use with your autoresponder AND hide the email address from email harvest programs with this email encoder.
